Hantsport & Mantua This was yet another crappy rainy day in my railfanning life...surprise surprise! Oh well, i got some shots, and did at least go railfanning. Got some shots of the new GMD1 that WHRC was leasing, but they didn't come out. Stupid glair. The first pic is one i took by setting the camera on the rails as the train was pulling forward. I thought it rather unique. The next is the gyp units passing by us at the Mantua grade crossing. The nice thing about a shortline is, they move slow enough to chase and photograph several times. The next picture is taken at the grade crossing near my house with the Gyp train westbound up a 4% grade. The 4th picture is Peter standing next to the units as they pull out of Manuta, and the 5th is him standing beside the grade crossing signal waiting for them to show up. The 6th picture is the unit approaching the same grade crossing in Mantua. 7th picture shows the trio of RS23's in Hantsport and the final picture is those same units rolling backwards. Truro Spur These pictures were taken on the way to Halifax...i saw the WHRC and MRM guys working on the Truro Spur, and decided to drop in and get a couple shots. Both of these are 8019 and an Ex. TOFC flatcar loaded with ties. All Across the Line This was an exciting week on the WHRC! New Cando Leasing GP9RM's showed up from CEMR in Manitoba, and myself, as well as David Othen and Garnet Clarke railfanned them for most of the day, chasing from one of the line to the other and back several times over. Basically, all these shots are somewhere along the line between Mantua and Hantsport. I tried not to shoot from the same location over and over, as that only provides for stale photography, but tried more to use an assortment of angles, shadows and such to get interesting shots every time. Some, i only moved 10 feet farther away and 200 feet down the line, others are shot at totally new locations. Of interest are the last two pictures....two good friends, Grizzz and Paul. The joy of a shortline is, the crew can take the time to pose for a picture or two. Hi Guys! Saint John, NB These are pictures of the NBSR, or the New Brunswick Southern Railway. These shots were taken when i was in Saint John with the Eaastern Benders and the MFMR for a convention. To see more of them, go to the Railfanning Trips section and look for the section titled "MFMR Convention 2004 - Saint John". Stellarton, NS These pictures were taken by me while railfanning in the Stellarton Area while my cousin was here for our annual visit. There are more, but they're in the Railfan Trip section. Look for "Dave's Visit 2005" and you should be able to find the pictures. Palmer, Mass These two pictures were taken in Palmer, Mass. while on an annual visit to David. This time, we visited him! There are many more pictures, but they're in the Railfan Trip section...look for "Boston 2004 - Siderod in America", and you'll find the pictures. Compiled random pictures These are just 3 pictures i had lying around in seperate folders that i didn't know where they belong, so i just put them here as "random pics"...the first is a CN leaser...a GMD1u that came from BC (or somewhere like that out west). The next is the freight train starting from a dead-stop on a 4% grade after stopping to flag the crossing by hand, due to a GBO. The last pic is RS23 8034 switching Fundy Gypsum in Hantsport.
